My mindset for city riding

What I find scary these days are the amount of people running the rorange lights (amber which is very close to red). Its bloody dangerous trying to get off the mark quicker than some dick who thinks you want a race after filtering at the lights. I dont like to be first off at the lights anymore. Is it actually safer? Would it be better with a car or two in front to avoid random u-turns etc? A bloody loud horn is useful with cars changing lanes at the wrong time. Its funny making them jump.

Agreed 200%. I enjoy giving them the shits... top of the NW motorway, there are alway red light runners coming down Hobsonville Road and you can see them coming a mile off.

Pop the bike into first, and a they start to enter the intersection, hop it forward a foot or two. Some of the startled faces are classics.

Hopefully the next lights are red too so you catch 'em up, they have no-where to go and you give them a nice ugly stare (real easy in my case...)
