I would still go Pilot Powers.
Have you actually tried them, cage driver, or are you shit stirring?

Yes i have actually. I had the vipers on my o4 blade. They were fantastic in the dry and complete crap in the wet. I had numerous slides on them.

Metz Z6, Pilot Road, Diablos or Metz M3. All will suit you well. They're all designed for a quick warm up at low speed.
Track day tyres are not the best for a wet commute unless you want to ride like it's a motard.

Were they the Sport or the Sport Extreme? The Sports have been superb in the shit weather we've been having lately down here.

Pilot powers sucked in the wet. They never got warm at all and skated like you were on marbles if you so much as touched road markings or man hole covers.

So why the chickenstrips on the 'blade then?

I didn't blame any tools, I still passed you when I knew I was riding like shit. Nothing to do with the bike, my workmanship was clearly not up to scratch.

Conver to a skinny 18" at the back and run an Avon SM (speedmaster not S&M) and a 19" ridded avon up front (no, not for extra pleasure...)

Hmmm haven't heard of the sports extreme?... must have been the sports I was running. I was well impressed by them in the dry but even crossing damp patches on the road I had a couple of 2 wheeled slides. I had them on my blade when I low sided it in Coromandel on a damp bit of road.

I had the Pirelli Diablo rear before that with a Diablo Corsa front and I felt they were better in the wet than the Avon, but not as good in the dry.

I have never tried pilot powers but they will definitely be my next choice of tyre.

Smart arse. Pilot Roads are better in the wet.

Why am I a smart arse? I was comparing my experience with riding on Avon Vipers and Pirelli Diablo's.

I just said that Pilot Powers will be my next choice.

My mistake. I thought you were engaging in witty repartee.
