Indeed, it's patently obvious. Shift your weight forwards to stoppie, shift it back. Just like in real life. Duh.

If you still can't get the front end up, you never will. Trade that playstation in for something more suitable for your skillset, like snakes and ladders.

You're both assuming right stick means turn handlebars right. Right stick simply means turn the bike right. If you choose Lean In or Motard as your riding style, you will see right stick will also shift the riders bum off the seat and (in motard) stick the leg out...Or is that not good enough for you? Do you need a 'move my bum' button and a 'stick my leg out' stick as well?

Its an easy game to pick up, it has the best physics so far in a motorcycle game. They will never be perfect though, how can they market a game with absolutely perfect physics but a real bitch to control. Most of the Playstation generation don't know how to ride bikes so would have no idea how to counter steer to get the bike on its side???? Its made accessible for a reason, but its still a great game and easily the best on the market.

Did you have it set to pro in the game settings ERIK? if you didn't then thats why it wouldnt wheelie. You use the left stick for leaning left/right and moving bodyweight fore and aft. Just pull back on the left stick and forward (accelerate) on the right stick for a wheelie....most bikes in the game will wheelie fine, some require a stoppie first then pull back. Some are just plain underpowered (as in real life).
As Mr Peanut said, most newbies are quick to dis the physics as they take a bit of getting used to........this ain't no ridge racer. Learn the controls, ride a while to get used to them, then your opinion will change.

Jesus Erik, talk about hen picking. The game is a damn sight better than GP3 (Havent played GP4) You can wheelie just about any of the bikes plus stoppie any of them. You cannot wheelie in the license tests.

Its a damn good game and for the first of its type (not including GP's) they did a farking good job of it

After some more testing I've found out that having the Failure Conditions turned on seems to stop you from being able to shift your weight forwards and backwards.
With failure conditions off, it's easy to wheelie and stoppie. It doesn't seem to matter if you have manual or automatic transmission or pro or standard control setup.

I wouldn't have persevered and found that out if SimJen hadn't specifically said the left stick should make you lean forward and back, so cheers.

I don't think that a game with physics that I'm talking about would be more difficult to play. I think if you made the left joystick control the pressure on the bars rather than the bar/steering position you wouldn't need to push the joystick in the opposite direction to where you want to go. Controlling it would be different, but I think people would get used to it.

Cool Erik, I've never altered that setting, mine has always been off.
Possibly your idea could work, but remember the majority of people who would buy the game are probably kids, and they wouldn't know the difference.....either way
Having said that, this is the first bike game I've seen that has had such a big hit on all the motorcycle forums I frequent. Must be a good thing.....
The Polyphony boss has always liked bikes, but thought a game like this wouldn't sell. Obviously after the success of the GT series he thought he could take the risk. I think its paid off, but only sales will dictate wether we get updated versions etc. I can't wait for TT2/3/4.....

The failure condtions thing is a pain. I like racing with the stricter rules but not being able to do wheelies kinda ruins it.

Has anyone managed to get all gold's in any of the license tests? I'm stuck on a couple and want to know if you unlock bikes or just more riding gear by getting all golds.

I bought TT tonight. I've already got pretty much every road racing game on PS2. You guys played Riding Spirits 2?
First up, its too similiar to GT4 (which I was kinda disappointed with). Bear in mind that so far I've played for about 20 minutes in Arcade mode. Only 4 in a race? That sucks, rolling starts? ditto, whats with the ghost image when restarting after a crash? ditto. I set the option to Pro rider and to "lean off" option and wheelies seemed pretty easy, however you cant seem to lean the bike over far enough or climb off the bike enough.
Personally at this stage it seems a bit over rated, the graphics are OK, but I think I prefer MotoGP4 for being able to drift, slide, stoppie and race a decent size field. TT Superbikes also offers a better racing feel to it, I think Riding Spirits 2 offers more opportunity to "tune and modify" the bikes.
Maybe it will improve with further play, but I think I might be expecting too much from the game.

Go through the licence tests and you skill will go up. Get used to using the lean in button. Youll enjoy this game when you get better at it.

Im enjoying it much more now. I know what your talking about, but it really does get better.

if you like SH22, you simply need to do Nurburgring North Loop on your favourite bike. I just did with the blue/white busa.......the replay is amusing to watch, especially the tankslap at 302kph which threw me off. They should have added the options for 'fatality' there.....sort of giving you more responsibility not to fall off too hard.

Anyways......how do I powerslide (if possible at all)?

    P.S.
Damn polyphony makes a bike game without ZX7, RC45 and RC51.....I mean, what the he..?

i would guess it would be the same on most games.. lock up the back, then accelerate while holding the front brake (after letting go of the rear)

As you lean into the corner, shift the weight forward while still turning (press the crouch button as well if you wanna get real wide )and give it some gas. The busa lights em up real well...

If you wanna get real tricky, do a stoppie and land on a slight angle, then give it some gas

Turning the brake control to pro (non linked) also helps and makes the game a shit load more rewarding. Takes a bit of getting used to though.,
