'tis a matter of taste, Dave. I rode the M109 back from Vege Towers, I'm not paid enough to be seen riding it in my opinion......

However, the Beemer is my 'cup of tea' and I could quite happily take it home (I did last night!).

So was I until I gave it a prod and found it was cheap thin plastic.

You think that is cheap thin plastic? go check out the quality and finish of the MV Brutale headlight surround.

Can anyone say poor quality moulding?

Hrm, my gripe is not so much the quality of the plastic, more that it's plastic full-stop. How bout some nice aluminium or something.

Put it next to a rocket III and see where the Triumph literally shines.

Put the price tag next to a Rocket III and see what stands out most!

The Rocket is a beautiful bike but for 20 large the M109R is a nice piece of kit. I hate the light and think it would look stunning with a big meaty M50 style front end but each to their own.

There's what, 6k between the 109 and the rocket base model? I'd pay another grand for the suzuki just to replace the plastic with metal...
Surely they could have done better.
I enjoyed the M50 far more than the 109 despite the lack of oomph.

More like ten grand mate. I agree that using shitty plastic is becoming a bit too commonplace on pricey machinery but 10 large is a lot of coin.

Still, I'm not sure I'll be buying either of them anytime soon and I'm quite happy with the plastic on my gixxers.

I'm enjoying the Suzuki. This one sounds great when on it and it's my size.

I didn't say I didn't like the beemer - there are several things that impressed me. How slow you can ride it without slipping the clutch and its lack of drivetrain freeplay. and that it will powerstand too. its an elegant solution in a swiss army knife presentation. I mean....I prefer fish in my goldfish bowl! It's a nice thing - just weird.

If plastic means I can buy an SV1000S and a M109R for nearly the same price as a Rocket, they can make the whole damn thing out of it for all I care!

The BMW is a bit weird looking from the front, no argument. I really don't like the way the Suzuki looks (and steers) but it has the stonk no doubt. Horses for courses, one man's poison etc.
