    SHOCK HORROR! speeding past schools

I followed a cop car with 3 cops in it past Otahuhu College. It was doing 62 kph, previously and didn't slow to the required 5 kph over the limit as I did.
My radar detector went off and another cop car comes around the corner and gives the other cops a cheery wave.He gives me a blank look as I point ahead at the cops in front.
Won't somebody think of the children?

The old 'One rule...' formula in action.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

now why does that not surprise me at all...

*look the light is red.... hmmm... put the siren on so we don't have to wait" (seen that happen... and right after the light, back down to 50 and going nowhere in a hurry...)

Also had a cop do a U turn (no lights or sirens) right infront me causing me to take evasive action... again no surprise
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

Two sets of rules mate. Your's is: Riding without both hands on the controls while going past a school. Careless driving. You're nicked sonny.

No, you're not entirely worngA. the LIMIT is 50kph. Always (unless it's less of course. Or more. But anyway, the limit is the limit). But, earlier this year the cops announced that they would not be extending the "usual" 10kph DISCRETION near schools , and would be cutting it back to 5kph during the morning and afternoon "going to school" times. I'm not sure exactly what hours that was, but it was something like what you said.

That cop you pointed out must have thought you had a fascination with Police cars or something. That 5kmh tolerance only applies between going to school times and going home time, in the morning I think its something like 8am to 9.15-30 or similar. The rest of the time the tolerance is back up to 10kmh unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

Police speedos are also calibrated to show true speed. Your speedo will probably be over exaggerating by a bit, I think for some late model cars/bikes the variance is almost even up to 10kmh at 100kmh.

I spent half an hour following a copper at 130 a coupla weeks ago on the Wellington motorway.

model citizens my arse, just shows that nobodys perfect on the open road, especially with motor vehicles that completely outhandle those used 20 years ago.

    I think it's 7.30 - 9.30 and 2.30 - 4.30.
I know there are no kids around at 7.30, but there are a lot of people late for work. Get it?

Au contraire Indoo san. His speedo is dead accurate, plus or minus 1/2 km/h.
BTW that's more accurate than your Stalkers.
