they used to and still do make it harder to get certain types of medical procedure if you smoke, can't see why they can't do the same thing for the obese
They've advertised for years to encourage people to stop smoking, how effective has that been, making it hard to smoke in public and price increase have probably made the biggest difference ......

What's Brash got to do with it? You're not a badcat, more of a naughty pussy.

don brash is living proof that the entity that designed our race has a perverse sense of humour. he's pantomime's widow swanky, not a viable leader.
i voted labour so he wouldn't be in charge of my country.
meet me before you pass judgement.

You are the sum total of a sheltered kiwi and don't have a single thought of your own. It is not your country, it is ours. I don't need to meet you to pass judgment - actions speak volumes. You have already failed in life, hence your preference for the safety net of socialism. You're full of ideology, indoctrinated from your upbringing and poor education. You are a non achiever and envious of people that succeed. You have given up all hope of achieving anything great in life and settle for mediocrity. You are not capable of making decisions for yourself and want to be guided in life. You lack responsibility and accountability. You really don't care about this country at all. You are selfish and should be kept away from young boys and small animals.

In short, we have nothing in common. You could say that we share a common interest in biking however I am in it for the passion. You ride a bike because you can't afford a car. The reasons are explained above.

You are the reason I don't pay tax.

    keep your analysis, it's worthless.

Tha Jandal: Adding another dimension to "rubber side down"

Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"

Not so fast Mr Marxist, but stay with me here, you'll like where it's going. I've lost hope for this country. No party impresses me. Act was once close, but god forbid that we should be responsible for our own lives.

I'm beginning to think that Kiwi's need something really radical. Since it is obvious we are happy being told how to run our lives, that we know no better, I think communism is the only answer. I think it's perfect for NZ and funnily enough, will acheive the same outcome of capitalism (but it'll just take longer to get there)

Be thankful that you still have the freedom to choose, Helen's crew would make a rule against that if they were politically able to and it would all be done in the name of equality!! (Mediocrity)
The jury is still out on Don being a fool but it's a fact that Helen is a self interested idealist that is shagging the country.
Of the two options I would rather take a punt on Don.
