Moto GP for New Zealand

Received this email this morning......so show your support

We have the chance to get the MotoGP circus to New Zealand. Our chance to see Valentino Rossi and co. in our country.
Please, whether you are into motorcycle racing or not, click the link below and sign the online petition to the government and show your support.

This could be huge for New Zealand motorcycling, and put New Zealand well and truely on the world motorcycle sport map, but we need to show the government that this event is well supported.

Yep , been up before - I think i've had an email from a couple of bike shops too! While on this topic, did anyone hear on the news this morning that the govt pledged 2m to Taupo or was I still dreaming?

Was reading the newspaper of the guy next to me on the ferry and saw $2 Million of Govt money for motorsport so guessing thats what that was about.

yeh, enough money to bring the circuit up to standard of 'enter european motorsport name' standard 2... not sure what it means but i would have thought they would go for standard 1

yeah read it in the paper this morning and was surprised 2m handout towards taupo track, i think good on the goverment for contributing.

The bad news is that apparently there has San Marino round of the MotoGP mooted. This will almost certainly go ahead, which will mean the series totals 18 rounds...
