    Should we start a petition?
I can whip up a quick website and we'll see just how many people would support it. I'm sure we could get hundreds if not thousands of people sign it!
It would be freaking awesome for New Zealand. I'm sure each event would bring more than 12 million to the country every year, so what's the big deal?

All those in favour of a petition, let me know and I'll sort it out.
    Something like bringmotogp2nz.co.nz or support4motogpnz.co.nz

I guess you could fill the old pits with seating.
Stay? My couch. $500 a night thanks

Stand? give 'em a break, they're still building all the facilities around the new track. There is a planned capacity of 30 000 spectators just for the dragstrip so I don't think seating will be an issue.

I'd rather spend my cash on doing motorsport than watching it but I still think it'd be great to have MotoGP here. I just hope their business plan has more items than #1: get the track to MotoGP standard. #2: Ask the government nicely for 12 million bucks.

    Cheers
    Clint

Post Sign the Petition to Support the MotoGP coming to NZ

    Hey guys and girls,
I've set up an online petition to get some formal support going for MotoGp coming to NZ.
If your interested, please visit the link below and sign up.
    http://www.motogp.co.nz/supportnz/

If you can think of any more blurb to put on it, let me know.
I'll add functionality to be able to view the people and comments already signed up in a few days.

    Cheers for your support!

The government is to provide $2 million for new facilities at the Taupo Motorsport Park allowing New Zealand to bid for major events such as a round of the MotoGP World Championship....

The Taupo track owners have succeeded - they've got $2 mill out of the government (i.e. us) and no events yet - brilliant!

OK that seems to make more sense. If they already have the event subject to the upgrades - fair enough, I hereby eat humble pie.
