    Commuting Fun

I had just the BEST moment on the way to work this morning.

I exit the Wellington motorway at Murphy ST and then generally speaking filter up to the front of each set of lights all the way down to Featherston St.

As I passed a Shuttle Mini-Bus I noticed one of the crowd of 14 year old lads inside holding up a sign and gesturing at me. The sign said: "UR Hot."

Unfortunately for this lad, the lights went red, and as I pulled up level with his window, I stopped, raised my right fist in the air, gave my BEST gay salute, and in the campest voice I could manage, shouted, "Oh Behave!" through the window.

You've never seen so many 14 year olds move so fast to the opposite side of a van. I swear one of them was trying climb out a window on the other side.

    Ahhh Motorcycling.

Well, Jim does ride an orange Kwakka about the same shade as the scarf that caused that recruitment cop some grief. Astute observation by the lad in the van, I'd say.

    Yeah, wot he said?

Raised fist eh, similar to Black Power?

Should it not be a limp wrist maneuver?

ps. Is that way faster than taking the waterfront offramp? Even if it was, I don't know if I'd do it, cause there's some hardcore splitting action all the way past the offramp!

Arm up, closed fist, then extend fingers straight out and flop that hand sister!

ps I find it quicker, even with all the lights, because you don't have to wait forever to turn into Rolleston St off Jervois Quay, plus the "view" is better.
