Yes - The Naki Roads Are Great Would Go For A Ride On Them Anyday.
No - The Naki Roads Are Boring Rather Be Watching Tv.

Mrs H and I went up to the Plateau at about 11:00pm. Nice starry night but forgot about the gravel (lumps the size of oranges). Turned off the bike, dismounted and nearly lost it in the dark! No possums on the road anymore -- 1080 is a fine product!!Originally Posted by ManDownUnder

Just got my bike on the road, so since the Manfeild Open Day has turned to shit, I'm going to take a ride round the mountain on Sunday!. Which I intended doing last weekend, but a couple of minor issues with the bike after putting the motor back together after 4 months of down time!.
Thanks for the info.........Festus![]()

I just found a good naki ride start from new plymouth go to inglewood and then stratford and then you turn down this road and ride on that for about 30 minutes dont forget to fuel up then you end up and oukaru and then enjoy your ride back to new plymouths its good nasty country roads with all thos corners

I presume that where we're going here is the top route round the mountain??Originally Posted by Sk8r_Boi_
So if you get to the Caltex station how far past have you gone?? Duh! The route you're referring to is up Pembroke Road. You can also turn right immediately after going past the Taranaki abbatoir (Monmouth Road), or take the second right after the second roundabout (Stratford/Opunake Road).

Im guessing everyone in Taranaki that owns a motorbike has done this ride? If you havent then get out there! its a wikid ride and i have never seen a cop once you are 5 mins out of town. Theres a few straights when first heading out but pretty soon you hit those 3 saddles! and you can ride "fast" without breaking the 100kph speed limit.
From memory the return trip from Startford takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
Come summer i we will have to hook up and have a ride out there. I park it up in winter, im not confident in the wet and dont enjoy it.
How many folk here live in Taranaki?
