Suddenly a Harley gathering doesnt look so scary

Just a few more reasons why I wont own a harley
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Of course they're not scarey, they look just like most gatherings I attend, 'salt of the earth' people and all that..

It worries me Sniper that maybe you're friends do NOT look like these fine people!

Hey it's just Fat Bob, Wide Glide, Sporty et al on a family gathering. So what? Saw worse at the Cold Duck. Now there's a quacker of a biker gathering

Fail to see it's an all Harley gathering though. Honda CB900 customs and Beemers abound. Probably just group of mates shooting the breeze .

No wait I own a v-twin that has two wheels so it must be a Harley ah bro?

    Mate - he's in Chch - it's still 1964 down there.

Apart from the bloke in the bikini and the pukus (sp?) they look pretty much like my mates back home.

What??? You're not saying it takes all sorts to ride Harley's (Or bikes of any sort)??
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

At least it's a different reason to the blinkered ignorance and stereotyping that most people apply without ever having ridden one.

Harleys are really nice motorcycles at what they do, ridden by some of the best and truest friends i've ever made.

I have ridden and 'tested' an example of pretty much every brand and type of modern bike - and what did I sign up for and pay off every month - a Harley engined motorcycle. They are that good.

Sure there are lemons - just like Hondas - but most of the people who carp on about them being crap are justifying to themselves that they can't afford one - cause it's not the facts.

The folks I see in those pictures could just have easily been at a Ulysses meet or just about any club ride.

    fuckin A.

I'd much rather go out for dinner or have a few drinks with these guys than say, the local law society. (or just about any bunch of lawyers en masse)!
