Rob you were meant to redirect that southbound one via the Norf, we would have had a big breakfast cooked for the driver.

What do I do with the forklift we rented?

ok, at the risk of starting another upgrade debate (which has been done enough)... err... you have everything sussed?? Stepping from the gt250r to a zx12r or zx14 is one huuuuuge step.

Have you thought about a er6n or ninja 650 as an intermediate step or something??

Just looking out for ya eh?

    Thanks bro. Its all good.

I rode motorcross as a teenager and had a TT500 for a number of years. I grew up in Kawerau/Whakatane during the 80's and my uncle had a GPZ600 (as well as more money than ability) and I would use it go out with a few mates who were keen road riders. They were mad bastards then and still are now!

After 15 years (I'm 40 now) I decided to get back into the saddle and made the call to start off on a 250 and ride on the road to get back in the groove. I'm not saying that I am a competent rider but I feel confident on a big bike and know how to treat it with respect. Auckland traffic, is the unknown quantity...and I guess spending time improving and growing confident are important....

At this stage the 12 is looking good. I like it. Price wise - it should drop with the introduction of the 14. Its flexible and I want something that I can take my wife on the occassional ride into the sunset as well as shoot down to the Bay and go riding with the boyz. The 14 is nice but cant justify the coin at the moment nor handle the hype. The 636 is too small while the ER6N is... a bit gay??? (Dont tell Wiggles that!). And the 10...well...that is just an angry mofo. Finally...and I dont want to come across the wrong way - but I have riden a couple of litre bikes already...and too be frank...I wouldnt go back.

Again thanks - I appreciate the yellow flag. Let me know when you get your 10 - so we can ride!

    Cheers

Talk of a GSX1400 replacement, maybe a B King with an 1800 engine.

It's the GSX1400's last year due to emission controls in Europe for 2007.
How about a busa getting the GSXR1000K5 treatment, lighter, faster, smaller, more bhp, more cc.....holy green eyed mother of jasus i've messed meself

hehehe, yeah, that won't happen for a while tho...

OK, obviously I didn't know the whole story, and you certainly have more experience than someone who has only ridden a gt250r, which makes a difference, obviously. From the other side tho, there have been people wanting a thou after their first bike, a 250...

Enjoy coming to grips with it eh? I couldn't even imagine how potent it would be. I have also stopped myself from riding the 10 because I know I would want one.... which I can't afford to do

I'm still picking the ZX12-R as my ultimate next step. The flexibility between comfortable long-distance mile eater and hillclimber on steroids makes it the logical replacement for a ZZR - More power, less weight and better handling.

Fuck yer HSV.... ZX12-R, I just want one.

Max - there is an 05 sitting at Mount Eden with 11,000clicks, Ohlins forks, and damper, Ohlins rear and fully kitted yohimura pipes and RS3 can....plus a power commander. 184 horses at the crank. All the fruits for 16-17K

Check it out if youre interested...

I had to wipe the keyboard after reading that.

Seeing as I am a law-abiding New Zealand taxpayer on what is described as "above average income"... It will depend on this week's Lotto draw again.

    Fuck you very much Helen.

EDIT: Don't you dare tell me it's a black one.

So then you have two similar bikes? The 'busa suits people who don't want to spend their later years as a hunchback and those who want to carry more than two changes of undies on a ride.

    It lives out east...

well, either that or it was visiting some friends. Tootling home this evening I caught up to it along the SE highway, and he left me on pakuranga highway around highland park... Wasn't going slow, but not fast either, and he kept up all the time, so he's pretty confident on a brand new 14... quite a big bike too for splitting....

Gave him a thumbs up, some nice words etc etc as you do. I think it was quite quiet, as I only heard it once, when I was sitting at the lights, and he turned off...

Gosh darnit, will be so hard having to see such a bike occasionally
