    Castrol recalls wrongly labelled product

    1.00pm Tuesday May 23, 2006 NZ Herald

Castrol New Zealand is recalling a lubricant incorrectly labelled as a brake fluid.

The product is packaged in a four litre dark grey bottle and incorrectly labelled as Castrol Response Dot 4 (brake fluid).

The correctly labelled Castrol Response Dot 4 (four litre) is a red bottle. Red bottles are not being recalled.

The company said that if a customer purchased the incorrectly labelled product they should not to use it and should contact Castrol.

Using the incorrect product could result in detrimental performance of the vehicle's/motorcycle's braking system.

The company said that customers with further queries should contact Castrol on 0800 800 197.

No other Castrol products are affected.

4 litre pack - I don't think this would be going out to the general public, that size would be supplied to the trade...but they don't say what is really in the container?....

Geez,a 10 litre lasts me a year in 3 man workshop,it takes 8 months in NZ before it has absorbed enough water to be tossed out - what the hell does a home handyman want 4 litres for? Can you drink it?

i thought it was incorrectly filled bottles, not incorrectly labelled.'

and who uses 4 litres of brakefluid? we EAT braking fluid (not Dot 4 obviously) at work, and a 5 litre pressure container of it lasts a couple of months - changing a couple of brake units (as opposed to just pads) a night 7 nights a week will do that.

I usually just get my lube in a smallish tube... 4 litres of the stuff seems a little excessive/wishful.
