NEED A TANK FOR A kwaka GPX 250 86-90 MODEL...

it seems my gpx has a very small leak and i can't patch it up because it's already been done screwed up before...

i have rung some wreckers but they all say nope

nobody has one laying in the corner do they?

from what i hear these tanks are prone to rusting though

any help would be much appreciated...

    Cheers: MA

Good luck in your search. These are a bad one for retaining water/rusting out.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

dude I looked into that. Can probablt be fixed with some glassing. Or maybe even metal kneed it. But yeh there is one wrecking on tardme.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,

They are pricks of tanks and they rust like buggery. We have one of these bikes on the road Speights_Bud's bike. You need to look after the tank you have cos they are getting like hens teeth to find. Try and get the one off Trademe but other than that you may have to get some one to rebuild yours. The problem seems to be the top cap leaks and the rain gets in to the tank and sits in the bottom and the rust goes nuts. We have first hand experience of all this. We purchased the bike of Trademe but found a tank before we settled on a price. As it turns out it was one of the few tanks around and in good nick. The tank on the bike had a repair kit in it and a heap of glass. It leaked so we dug the bog out and the glass and most of bottom of the tank is rusted away. Go get it cos you could have a problem in the making. Good luck

garaging them helps, mine has been garaged ever since it was imported (according to previous owner) and i checked inside the tank with a spot light and there is no rust anywhere, there is a fuel filter on it tho, so maybe someone was just being cautious...

Yep that is true but Patrick rides it in the rain. It is out when he is at school and mates places. Always in the shed here but the rain gets in as he rides. I will have a look at it for him but the rot has started in his replacement tank. The rubber seal is not a flat one so hard to replace.
