rode to work yesterday morning as well....was raining a decent amount. took a spare pair of socks in case my work shoes leaked. was very impressed they didnt [normally my feet are half swimming when its raining]
dont bother with wet weather pants, just my work ones with thermals underneath. ive got leather pants, but they soak right through, plus a hassle to put on an off.
usually my jackets suffer worst in the wet, means i gotta hang em over an office chair and hope they dry out a bit.
got stuck in a queue onto the bridge [all the sissy school kids getting rides!] but the upside, is that that bridge has a cycle track attached. i could easily use that!

like others its ride, walk or bus to work. too far to walk and dont finish till quite late. and buses dont run when i finish! LOL.

Shared the metal umbrella in with Mrs P today. Reregretted it as soon as we got to the NM motorway...regretted it again when 'twas parking time.

    Feck.

Taking teh car is a mistake...

Hell, I filtered up to the Nelson St lights at the end of the NW this morning and we had a line of 4 bikes across the 3 lanes ready to throw up some rooster tails at the cagers behind us

I got wetter running from the cage than I do on the bike.
    I want my bike back.

Once again I braved the elements and rode the bike to work up the southern motorway.

I suppose I shouldnt be so dramatic as I am 50 years old, had a bike licence since I was 15 and never had a car licence.

I always ride a bike unless I'm going out as a passenger in a car.

What made today special is that I, like the berk I am, thought the weather wasnt too bad. Didnt put on the waterproofs. Soaked through by the time I arrived.

I think the words "dipstick" and "brain fade" fully describe me this morning.

The Napier Taupo was so foggy you could only see one road marker ahead, if you were lucky. Fuck the kit kat, give me the whole bloody factory!

Jeez, one little ride and you're complaining What about when I used to get up at 3 in the bloody morning and drive down to Feilding in a clapped out van with a broken heater and zero demisting just so that Mr Poncy "factory rider" could ride around sedately all day and then have to turn around and drive back up to Auckland again after working all day on the bike.

    Suck it up man!

Didn't see a single other bike from westgate to the city. There's hardly any bikes at uni either. I haven't ridden in weather that bad for quite a while, even rode an SV325 for a little bit towards the end of the journey.

    I deserve a kit kat.

    /end of rant.

yeap. no wet weather gear either. my jeans took 7 hours to dry out sitting at my desk.

    wont do that again

Riding in to work in the rain was OK, riding home in the rain and dark was a bit exciting, but mainly due to watching cars pull out infront of other cars! I guess it's a bit of poetic justice for cagers? What is it about rain that makes drivers do such dumb things!?
