Doesn't play well with others
Pull Me, Nick Me, Try Me, Ban Me !!
Try the Founders theatre roundabout. I binned a CBR on there a good few years backStill got the scrape marks on the road surface where the crank lunched itself.....just before flipping the bike 3 times and covering it in oil.
Just gotta get the right time to avoid traffic, beauty is St. Johns is only a few hundred metres away![]()
Viva La Figa
Tristram St has 3 roundabouts close together and the one outside the Pack n Save is negative camber so it's great for scraping bits.

If you go from BK in Te rapa over to Chartwell you get to go through 5 roundabouts, most of its 80k limit as well.
Ah cool guys thanks.
Now I just have to get the weather sorted![]()

Yup. Used to use round abouts to scrape sliders when I was 16 too.
Moved on to angle grinders now. Less tyre wear.

Mental note: When putting ones knee down ensure that you remember which suit you are wearing. Woops & ouch.

in my opinion, the BEST roundabout to 'play' on, is the caltex roundabout on te rapa straight.. especially on friday and saturday nights, when you have a crowd that cheers (well, at least "watches" you) when you go round.. I go round at about 50-55km/h and get my toe-sliders down (since I can't afford Quasi leather pants with sliders yet) <-- shameless Quasimoto plugOriginally Posted by Biohazard
If you decide to go with my advice, and you do come out on a friday/saturday night, please come say hi.. I'm normally around there on either/both of those nights.. just so there's no confusion (even though i'm pretty much the only bike on te rapa straight at that time), I'll be on the noisy bike wearing bright yellow/black cordura

Why not just go for a ride with decent corners?
*shrug*
because, in real life, the only time you should have your knee down is on the track.. putting it down on the road, is showing off, and the safest location for knee down on a road, is a roundaboutOriginally Posted by Shade

Really? So i should be putting a knee down, doing 55kmph around a diesel spilt round about which traffic will be more likely to use, and see, aka showing off like your post above, where people are 'cheering' - rather than go for a ride out in the wops, no one to show off to, and far less chance of oil spills, traffic, etc?
Take your own advice yeh?

WTF.. I didn't say "Every roundabout you should have your knee down" ..fine, if you want to go put your knee down on bumpy wop roads, be my guest..Originally Posted by Shade
I've never met you, so I'm not gonna give you shit about the way you ride, and if you're a half-decent person, you'll do the same..
onto your "rather than go for a ride out in the wops" yeah, me too.. but not on a Friday or Saturday night.. and it's not always easy to find people to go riding with..
