    Kawasaki 636 ZX6R

Calling all you Kwaka experts. I am looking at moving down from a 1000cc to a mid range sports bike, and I have a question.

Pardon my ignorance, but is the 636 and 6R the same bike or are they different. cheers

636 and zx6r its the same bike.....but its the 6RR thats the different one...but I highly doubt you'll find one...and if you do it would hav been 99% likely it was raced...and they are apparently crap on the road...as they only made to be on a race track..

    to further what cowpoos said

    zx6r 03+ = 636cc
zx6rr 03+ = 600 (race rep model), was made so could race in the 600 series, only came in green, with a factory race kit you could easy get 120hp+ @ rw from them

    Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks Guys, I thought they looked the same, interesting that some ppl sell them as 636 and others as 6R and yet when I search Motorcycle trader for Kawasaki dealers No one is listing 636 ( or rather the search engine does not return any bikes). Just one more thing to confuse us poor dumb consumers.

yeah its really down to dealer, some of the early models were known as the 636, since the zx6r and zx6rr confused people

but now they don't even bring the zx6rr to sell in nz, so just list them as zx6r and looks alot better in branding

    zx6r
    zx9r
    zx10r
    zx12r

    and like

yep, the proper model name for the 636 is ZX6R and the 600 is ZX6RR. More commonly referred to as 636 or 6RR

both machines a fine choice, if I do say so myself, but you'll most likely find more 636s around than 6RRs, and I'm lead to believe the 6RR was only sold in green, if that's a problem for ya.

the 03/04 636s were the liveliest of the bunch, the 05/06 have been tamed a little, but still super duper bikes..

Cajun, they still sell both the ZX6R (636, or ZX636R to some!) and the ZX6RR. You can still buy both in NZ, and they're still branded as separate bikes. The other bikes don't have double-ups for now, so there's no alternatives to those. That might change if the rumours about the ZX10 are true..

Laggcity, you wont regret the change- it's not a move down!
I moved across from a CBR1000RR Fireblade. I changed mainly to enjoy the lighter bike that can be thrown around easier and brakes better. Money wasn't the driver but I must say the 636 is great on gas, doesn't rip tyres to death like loo paper and cheaper to insure etc..
Most of my riding is weekend hill blasting and that's where the 600s shine, giving nothing away to the 1000s. In a straight line the 636 would be faster than the sv1000 anyway. And the price is right! Some moaners went on about the 05 model having too low a screen, I didn't think so myself. It's now sorted on the 2006 model.

it's not just NZ, it's world wide.
And the 6R isn't special order, it's just not as popular on the floor as the 636 so not as many are ordered.

Tamed WTF, are you on drugs, they built a better bike with the C1. I cant recall me jumping off my B1 and getting on my C1 and thinking, oh well this isnt as quick or as agressice as the last model, what you talking shite for buggy? you ridden both extensively?
the C1 is a much more aggressive bike you can ride it much harder lets pluck one mod out to proof it, ahhhhhhh a slipper clutch! that put in there so you can ride it harder on corner entry without the back getting all out of shape.
not to mention the engine mods which are a plenty.

Sheesh Buggy you can talk some shite

Oh and if you want the superior C1 model 636 , buy mine its for sale!
Ive run out of fucks to give
