So a possum collapsed your front wheel? Just out of curiosity, were you riding a small (trail?) bike at the time? I've always wondered what the hell would happen if I ran over a possum on the back roads of Coro... I've squashed a few while driving so I expect I'll have a few encounters riding the ZX12...

They're very intelligent creatures too. Last time I visited Kelly Tarltons, some of the cray's had these dark circles on their backs. Found out that the octopus had been waiting until night time when no one was around, and he'd squeeze out the small gap at the top of his tank and wander over to the cray tank and feast on them, then get back into his own tank before anyone came in.

When I was a kid my dad had his boat moored at The Mt and at certian times of the year the beach would be covered in jellyfish. Us kids would find a stick each & see who could make the biggest jellyfish kebab.

I have only hit the road, footpath, driveway (damn oil slick) and various bugs...
But I have often had dogs run out at me... I think that the pitch of my bikes exhaust must enfuriate them.

A couple of times i pulled up to lights and there has been a lady walking along with her dog and then the dog just goes nuts... Pulling on the leash and barking etc. Im amazed that the owner managed to hold on to it.

Numerous possums, rabbits, hares, hedgehogs etc. One ferret, 2 cats, one dog, lots of small birds of various types, one hawk (I felt that one).

I've avoided cattle, sheep and dogs.

Generally with small animals its safer to just stick to your line, and if you hit them thats just too bad (for the animal, not the rider). Large animals should be treated as imovable objects. Avoid at all costs.

In the short time I have been back on a bike...

I have been hit by a bee(s) (...at least I thought it was a bee(s)...) in the visor at about 130ks. Big mess and I couldnt see anything....Luckily I was on a straight piece of road.

And I "thankfully" hit a guardrail on the coastal road between Thames and Coro Town. Might have qualified for the Olympics diving team if I hadnt...

Got a large Hawk on the Piecock a couple of months back! Hit right below the H/light with quite an impact. Thought at the time, if that had hit my head things could have been different ? G.

as far as live targets are concenered...

I was riding past a primary school (both sides of the road packed with kids) when a pussy cat sauntered out and ran across the road, a cry when up from the assembled crowd as it raced into my path, then strangely...leaped into the spokes of my front wheel and was obliterated.

A hush fell upon the crowd, somewhere in the distance a dog barked...

    ....and I carried onto work...

I went through a storm of wasps while out trail riding. they got all stuck in my body armour helmet visor, front of my helmet. I stopped quickly and dropped my bike and threw off my body armour. they didn't actually sting me luckly.
