The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook.
I have very much enjoyed teaching my partner (Girlygirl) the things I know about riding...limited as it maybe, and although I value our time riding together I want to do the most I can to make sure we both get home alive, not sure if I could help others in the same way, but I have found it a rewarding experience, give it a go, I've learnt a thing or two from it.

Put my application forward as a mentor ages ago, dunno what the hell's going on but I guess no one wants to learn how to hurt themselves or wear out a good pair of new jeans.
Also, I live in Ak now so you Wellington nerds will just have to be content with riding badly for a while yet.

Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"
I recon if anyone can ride 22 to a reasonable degree, then they should be able to handle the rest of NZ roads no problem... its good training that placeOriginally Posted by Quasievil

I took this oppotunity up at the end of last year and went and talked and rode with Quasi, we'll worth the time and effort if your just getting into motorcycling. I learnt so much from this experience and it is a big part of the rider i am today. You never stop learning.
We have a real asset in this site where as a beginner you have incrediably easy access to a wealth of Knowledge, experience and events. I recommend taking up this oppotunity to learn safe motorcycling as a beginner.
If you are in the hamilton area and want to meet up for me to pass on what i have learnt, send me a PM.
It's better to Burn out than to Fade away - Cause thats value for money!!

I got to step 3 and for the life of me couldn’t see where to register as a newbie (could be I am extremely slow, but have a look at the attachment). Am I missing something? I have been registered with KB for some time, does this exclude me from requesting a mentor?Originally Posted by Biohazard

Quasi - is there any chance of setting out a training schedule - i.e. topics to be covered?
I'm happy to help and I know everyone has their strong points, and their not so strong points... so a check list of sorts - topics to be covered - would be really useful.
If not, let me know what's needed and I'll put something together? I have no formal driving instruction training though so I'm likely to miss half the stuff anyway...
It'd be good to have expert days too - like track days. Emergency braking, cornering in the wet etc would be topics I can see a specialist might want to cover. I know what to do, but I'm buggered if I know how to teach "don't brake too hard" without a newbie falling off, scuffing themselves and their bike and not coming back for the next one because this free tuition it cost them too much
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
