Is it possible to get out of a speeding ticket with these errors:

I think that strictly speaking the mixup (putting the speeds in the wrong boxes) is no defence - infringment notices are not invalid for want of form. But, the police don't usually like to be seen making such silly mistakes. It's embarrassing. I have to agree with this. The ticket only has to "fairly inform" you of the offence. An "information" will be created should it get to court and from memory the rego is not an ingrediant of the offence - just the fact that you were using a motor vehicle at the time would be enough (correct me if I'm wrong spudchucka).

If the speed were less then you'd probably stand a pretty good chance, but it's getting pretty high. Do you know what branch the issuing officer was in - that too could have an effect. If it was traffic, they'll probably fight it all the way.

Good luck but at the end of the day, 84 is too quick around town (I'm quessing your speedo was showing close to 90).

The summary of facts would read, "The defendant was the driver of a motor vehicle on such & such street"......

Not:

"The defendant was the driver of a 1998 Pink Pajero, registration number '1WANK', on such & such street"......

So in that respect the rego of the vehicle is not relevant in terms of the ingredients of the offence. If it was raised in court it is highly likely that the cop has recorded those details in his notebook and he will simply read his notes as evidence.

Ehehe well you might stand a chance depends on how much of a bullshit artist you are and how much crap you can come up with aye lol..

Few things you can mention is the loose gravel and did the officer actually clock you and show it to you? If not you might be able to get away with it. Just dispute the 84k speed aye?

Well it's worth a try atleast, you might end up saving a few smack a roos ate $$ if not then I guess just pay up aye. And demerit point I was hanging on with 5 points left for two years so you should survive. All the best !

If the cop realises he has made those mistakes he can just write out a replacement ticket (filled out correctly) and tell you to throw the old one away.

Maybe he is a member of this site?????

Then he WILL realise he made those mistakes!
