First Scrape

I was coming up Bowen St, past Lambton quay junction on the right lane and switch to the left to turn onto The Terrace. I accelerated past a car on the left and took that corner a little quicker than normal, but not at devilish speeds by any means and scraped my shoe on the road! A first for me, woo hoo!! Realise the pegs are abit further up, so that's next I guess...

Maybe I shouldn't be bragging about that to the testing officer when I sit my resrticted in the near future! heh heh heh...

I'll second that on both counts. Glad it wasn't a fall bud. Remember its KNEES we want to scrape not shoes LOL.

Little hint when leaning out hard, lean yourself more than the bike. Obvious but effective.

Or put your feet further back on the pegs when you corner. Stops wear and tear on shoes. Only way you can then scrape is by doing the peg itself.

Yeah, when cornering, get the balls of your feet on the pegs. Don't worry if the pegs scrape then, they fold up some before something harder touches down to make things interesting.
