Am I a tosser?
Yes, the thread many of you have been dying to respond to for months...
My question arises from meeting a little wee RGV at the sames lights in basically the same circumstances for the last two days running. Now 636 v RGV in a straight line isn't even a race. And I don't think the other guy thought it was either, although with the amount of noise his thing makes I couldn't really tell if he was trying anything or not.
The problem arises from my commuting style, whereby I maximise the advantages that bikes have over cars, and when cars are not around I minimise the amount of time that it takes me to travel that particular section of road. Of course, a 636 can minimise straight-ish roads in a way that no RGV ever will.
So I meet little RGV at lights, and I take off into the distance never to see RGV again. Yes, I am bent over the tank, yes I am winding it out to prob 10-12 grand in each gear (14 redline) and yes RGV is quickly gone.
I mean, this young fella prob sees this dude on a bigger bike at the lights, lights go green and said dude buggers off down the mway never to be seen again... and then does the same thing the next day. My problem really is that I ride like this whether another bike is around or not. But does this make me a tosser for doing this while the RGV is around? Or should I calm down and set a good example by short changing at 3 grand and giving the RGV a chance, and then taking 3 minutes longer to get to work than I do every other day?
