Talking Petrol Prices bah talk about Bike Prices

Looking at buying my first road bike and of course i have to get a 250 or less but i know what a want and its a CBR only problem is that the prices for these bikes are ridiculus im looking at nearly 20yr old bikes getting prices of 4-6grand. Dam i hate markets supply and demand shite. Some of the bikes seem to have more than 30,000km and still asking stupid prices not that i care because i dont really look at bikes with more than 30,000km especially if its 250 or under.

But hey i understand the sellers opinion cause i wanted $3000 for my 95 KDX and only got what i paid for it plus a lil more.

I just want a bike with sum fun factor not to mention kool factor that a inline4 brings.

So what im saying is that i want a CBR250R for under $2000 with less than 30,000 , few problems would be helpful but i am a apprentice mechanic so i dont mind the work. also less around the '89 mark.

Any takers im a nice guy and know how to do a few odd jobs if need be. Don't mind hard yakka.

And I want to trade my 93 ZZR for a brand new ZX12-R. I'm prepared to pay cash for the difference so long as it's less than $100.

My uncle has a saying "If your not dutch your not much"

He teaches this to all his nieces and nephews(his children inherited it).
He specifically tells us to say it to Delis and considering i work for some it creates an interesting moments.

And that would be a nice trade up deal.

    BTW are you a Deli?

Tell me about it, 250cc bikes are rip offs especially cbrs, zxrs gutless things too,. I just sold my RF900 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...px?id=57202344 for $4000 and its far better buy than $4000 250 in my opinion. Although the guy hasnt paid so I might be relisting it. If I was you screw the 250cc limit and get a bigger bike they are better value for money.

2 months before I had sold a VT250 on trademe for $1000 which I had purchased in 5 years ago for $500.

But yeah I have been looking for over 2 months for a sub 30000km runabout bike thats for less $2000. Closest Ive come to a purchase was those FXR150s on trademe. But the good ones are still fetchin $2000+ a tad overpriced I reckon.

Even those 80s FZRs and GSXRs still going for $4000 , they where that price ten years ago geez.

The good second hand buy is getting harder to come buy these days.

    I'm a Pakeha bro, 100% pure Pakeha.

Actually I admire the Dutch. They manage to retain their place in modern Europe whilst producing S.F.A but Tulips and Marijuana Cafe's. That has to be respected.

LOL dam and you crack another one i luv it. Im a born kiwi but luv da heritage.
    Not to mention the jokes.

Skip the whole 250 thing aye.
I could use a loop hole but im not sure of it.

Register the ownership in the name of the workshop i work at and say its a runabout. I cant do WOFs yet but i know i could get my full license almost straight away saying that i need it for doing WOFs(Got to be qualified though). And i could always borrow a KBr bike for licence tests i guess.
A 400 would be nicer since i am 6'2" and 250s are a lil small for me.

Why limit yourself to 30,000km or less - Those bikes are good for 100,000 or more if looked after and that will drive the price down.

Yeah but when your buying a 2nd hand bike how do you know how many people owned it before the seller and can you trust the seller.
High revving fours are exactly that high revving machines and thatequals addtiional stress to the system and i realize they are made for it but after years of fatigue and i dont just mean the km but the weather damage however people say it. And ethanol content can be a factor. So many things can be a factor so its why i prefer to have the km low so its a factor that is less of a factor

instead of buying an expensive 250cc, i bought an old CBR400 for very little cash, did it up and that was perfect, fast enough but still looks like a 250 for the police. ride sensible and you should be ok, if you get caught, you'll be paying tax, but it will still probably work out cheaper then buying a 250. have a look for a cbr 400 and weigh up the difference in cost from purchasing a 250 and paying fines if you get stopped.
FYI, i never got stopped but then again, i'm a very lucky cunt, in many ways
