Question Are you an urban hoon?

I have to admit I ride like a total hoon on my GB. I don’t know what it is about small bikes that make me tear up the streets and treat cages like mobile chicanes. For my SV, I would have to choose option 2, but my GB is a café “racer” and that’s how I ride it around Auckland, to the sounds of horns and hand gestures from cagers.

A transformation happens when I jump from the SV to the GB. Speed limits, passing procedures (left or right side, whatever presents itself), following distance and cornering speeds become mere suggestions.

Have you ever had this happen? You’re stopped at the lights or shopping center and a cager you passed awhile ago gets out of his cage, walks up to you on your bike, and tells you that “you will die soon if you keep riding like that”. “Well shit dude, I’m almost 40 and have been riding like this all my life. When is this event supposed to happen?”

I try to teach fellow road users the basics of etiquette as I see it where possible. This can involve putting myself at risk of prosecution as a result, but someone's gotta do it.

Givin' cagers the learn on an urban road near you.

I ride however I please. I went for 2 as it's more how I see it. But others probably think my "commuting" is their "nuts", and we don't even want to get started on how I ride when the cops are chasing me...

SpankMe, please change Madboy's vote to option 3 in the pursuit of accuracy. He rides like a Nana unless He's being chased by the Cops.

Now I ride like a pussy. That fucking clause in the Land Transport Act that can leave me stranded on the side of the road has curtailed my hooning about. Well that's my excuse now.....................

start off taking it ease, then you can find yourself at times getting faster and faster, you think to yourself what the hell are you doing and pull it back.

Got that in the carpark at work one day.

I said, "You'll die sooner if you keep talking to randomly selected psychotic motorcyclists."

It was one of those moments like in Spongebob when Mr Krabs jaw hits the floor.

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I used to be an option 2, but now, due to a small issue with demerit points,I have to be option 3.
