Interested to know what you guys (& lady's) pay (N.Z) for things like tyres n stuff.
I have just had a set of Blade Forks and a Penske shock put on my VTR that about 1000 UK Pounds and a Michelin Sport 180 profile tyre about 200 Pounds (Pounds = Money, not weight !!)

The ancient & unjustified one.

I just put a set of Metzeler Sportec M1 front and rear tyres on my VTR for about 170 squid fitted. I bought a pair of EBC brake discs and pads for the front for about 270 quid.

I recently had a pair of Avon Azaros (AV49-SP front and AV46?-ST rear) fitted to my VTR1000, AND a set of braided s/s front brake hoses AND all brake/clutch fluids replaced. Cost just under $750. Price for tyres on their own would've been $529 fitted.
Other costs: Set of front caliper seals = $107
Headlight bulb = $19
New APE camchain tensioners would've cost me $270 for the pair, and a throttle position sensor would've been around $200, but I bought the lot from the UK for $265. OEM camchain tensioners are $260 each.
Exhaust clamp (second-hand) was $20 ($36 new).
15 tooth front sprocket (aftermarket) $32, Honda one = $44.
Replacement (non-OEM) R/R = $299.
Battery = around $40, IIRC.
Front caliper bolt = $7.
Semi-synthetic oil (Motul 5100) = $49
Vacuum gauges (for balancing carbs) = $145

It does, thanks. I was beginning to think that "Ol Blighty" was rather a "rip orf" country but it does'nt seem too bad compared to the above prices.

No way Mate! I could get genuie pipe works and collector box for my CBR1000FL for 155pound in UK (by the time feight, import tax and GST is add, it would cost me about $1000NZ to import it). To buy here it would cost me well over $2000NZ once GST (tax) is added. So count your blessings. Oh, and if you are planning to come down under could you smuggle some cheap parts in for us (we'll send you a wish list)?

And any chance of getting me some duty free perfume too please?

I pay around $500 for a set of Pirelli Diablos for my 800.

I don't know if my 1000 ones will cost more, as that's going to have a 180 rear, whereas my 800 is a 160.

Perfume....can do engine oil, racing unleaded, anti freeze, but perfume (surely real riders dont need perfume

Yes, some real riders DO wear perfume!! (and of course I only like expensive French ones!)

I was quoted $500 fitted for a set of Diablos for the VTR, that's got a 180/55-R17 on the rear, so it shouldn't cost you nay more for your 1000 than for your 800.
