I am looking for something with reasonable handling, but mainly as fast as possible in a straight line, not neccesarily top end, but in accelartion
me, i'd get a busa. delivers power linear and crazy all the way to redline.

oh that's right, i've got one

From memory it was a 250 but I heard a few horror stories about it. (eg no parts anywhere and none are still alive that actually get ridden).

    Probably not the NS then...?

No, that just about sums up the early 80s strokers... instead of getting old and crappy like the fours strokes, they simply wore out (or were neglected and blew up ).

But yeah, 250, red white n blue, bikini fairing, that's an MVX250. Didn't do much for me that one.

And seen as how 20k will get you the some of the fastest bikes in the world. Its quite easy to succumb

most of people who start threads on here asking which bike is faster, how fast is this bike, how fast is that bike - which is the fastest bike i can get for my money etc etc probably never ridden anything quick. They dont understand how ludicris an R1 etc actually is.

Doesn't take you long to realise that you need talent, quite a bit of talent to out ride a bike with more than 100hp+ let alone the 155-160 of some of the top 1litre bikes.

Or look at it from another angle. You reckon you could significantly outrun yourself on a gixer thou if you were chasing yourself on a gixer 600?

And not that i have checked - but i would guess manufactures ranges are probably only 10-15% made up of bikes with greater than 100hp at the rear.

Have you ridden a new thou? they take no talen just throtle control little man.

    I've ridden a gixxer750 (new but 05 model) and I second that.

Triumph claimed 2.8 secs, to my knowledge that hasn't been duplicated.
Their rider was probably some 20kg Somali refugee.

I've had a go on one and I would believe it - too busy hanging on to think about timing. Amazing pull from very low revs. An aptly named bike, the Rocket.

When they 1st came out & were being tested by various magazines, one outfit (can't remember who) measured the acceleration at 1.3Gs for the rocketIII.

Funny though that no-one has mentioned a Munch Mammoth, more easily got than a Y2K. Powered by a 260hp Cosworth motor.

Or a Boss Hoss V8 if straight line punch is what your after

Didnt ta magazine do a test where the compared the acceleration of a Rocket III to a CBR1000RR... The CBR had the SAME 0-100 time as a rocket III then ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner everywhere else....

Rocket is still fastest to 100 - and would be faster if it wasn't governed.
Comfort wasn't a lunch creiteria then.
