Yeah - my understanding is he/they still have to face 3 charges to be brought by the council. - one of them sounds serious. (or 2 if you are a cat person).

the cynic in me says that current events may be related to those future proceedings - or getting it to court.

He's still got some dressings on his hands and legs but nothing long term.

Every pet owner in the world probably boasts about being responsible with their pet(s), it's only when something like this occurrs and society points the finger, then the owner realise's they are not as responsible as they first thought.

From my experience most pets are far better behaved than most kids. Sure there are irresponsible pet owners...just as there are irresponsible parents (no reference meant towards this particular case). No one seems to give a shit about 8-12 year olds running amuck at midnight terrorising the elderly, train commuters, vandalising etc. Go and look at some of the parents: yard overgrown (can't look after plants), dog/cat out of control (can't look after an animal) but they are still allowed to have children when they have proven they aren't capable or willing to look after much simpler organisms. So what happens to the 8-12yr olds? We just take 'em straight back to the fuck-up factory that produced 'em in the first place...home.
No legislation seems targeted at obviously negligent parents yet we are targeting pet owners...who presents the greater risk to society?
