Lets face it, some people function just fine with various substances, others don't.
Alchol, legal highs, illegal highs.....control them, rather than letting them control you, and you're sweet!

Party pills are good if you're having a hard weekend and want something to keep you awake and going... but thats all I've found they're good for.

No different to before they came on the scene when me and my mates used to down 1/2 a doz no-dose pills before we went out. (Except no-dose worked better)

I guess they'd be ok if you'd never tried the real shit but personally, they don't even come close. Don't get me wrong, I'm no hard out druggie, but I've tried both sides (except p before anyone gets started) and for those of you who have never experienced partying it up while on e, I highly recommend it's an experience worth giving a go atleast once..... probably the next best thing to acid and that is regularily available.
It's just one of those days, where you don't wanna wake up,
    everything is fucked, everybody sucks,
You don't really know why but you wanna justify ripping someone's head off

That was a bit harsh looking back at it.

I believe that Party pills are not as "cool" as people put them put them out to be. I have been at parties where EVERYONE bar myself and a friend were on them. They looked like fun for the first half hour, but when you keep needed to pop them to stay on a high it gets a bit much.

I prefer being a happy drunk with red bull or V in my system knowing that unless I drink absinth or purple death or rum, I will be fine the next day.

Ooops I voted wrong. That's what too many substances do to you.

I heard an argument for party pills the other night that made a bit of sense in a twisted way: The come down is so bad that young people have to plan their excess partying. Therefore more thought is given to it, and it's not done as much.

If pills such as ecstacy were to be as cheap and readily available here as they are in england (for example) then I reckon there would be TONNES more teenagers and 20 somethings out most weekends oonsting it up.

Was it a general law about driving under the influence of substances? If so, then logic would dictate that it is also possible to be charged for driving with driving under the influence of coffee.....

    Latte anyone?
Been an offence to drive under the influence of alcohol OR DRUGS for donkey's years. used to be the "standard" DUI charge. Just not often used now because the EBA ones are simpler and easier to prove
    L
    LAND TRANSPORT ACT 1998
PART 2 - PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPANTS IN LAND TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Responsibilities concerning use of alcohol or drugs
    12. Persons not to drive while under influence of alcohol or drugs—

A person may not drive or attempt to drive a motor vehicle . . . while under the influence of drink or a drug, or both, to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the vehicle.

    Cf 1962 No 135 s 58(1)(e); 1988 No 170 s 7
So, yep you can indeed be charged. And suffer the same consequences as drunk driving. Just a bit more tedious for the cops because they have to prove "incapable of proper control", which will be based on the facts of each case.

And if you drank so much coffee that you were incapable of proper control of the vehicle , then you could be charged ditto I imagine. And the "drugs" don't have to be scheduled ones.
