    Runner/accident yesterday at Waikanae

No not me but I caught the tail end of those DJ retards on snore FM this morning wittering on about a guy pulling a runner at Waikanae on Sunday and binning on a major corner after trying to take it too fast.
But get this, this expert stuck in traffic estimated the rider was doing 130-140Ks with the cop behind him lane splitting past traffic. Did anyone see this happening apparently late afternoon Sunday? And how did this DJ stuck in a line of traffic estimate the speed of a bike traveling past him so accurately (sic). Saying stuff like that on the radio when you have no clear evidence of the speed demonises bikers. OK so the biker was doing something wrong (before you point out the obvious) but the speed issue sticks with me.

Could be anything... Like the DJ may or may not have actually been in traffic and wanted the story to sound more exciting. He also may have one of those radios that you can tune into the Po-Po frequency and he may have heard it or he may have been told by a copper himself and said that he saw it not to breach the privacy act.... Or he could have been in traffic and saw it but guessed the speed to make the story more exciting?! I dont really know but these are all things that went through my head when I read your post.

I saw it. I rode past just after it happened.

It was a rough as Red *RGV*250 i believe.

If you know where the new under road to get to lindalse was, he was coming out from under there. heading south.

Bugger to be him but it is a hard lesson learnt.

Oh and the where the bike was , it is IMPOSSIBLE to do 140kph. Lucky if he was at 60 - 80!!
