3 degrees?? Positively bleeding tropical! It's often below zero when I leave home at this time of year (modern gear is sure great)

Yup - big mallow puff, me.

I was marvelling just last week as I was riding to Hamilburg, "here I am at 120Km/hr in an ambient temp of -2 degrees, and I am warm! I am wearing jeans, Dririder Summit pants, cotton singlet, business shirt, thin acrylic jersey, a Motoline Victory 3 jacket, woollen socks, Stylmartin boots and top of their line Orina gloves. 25 years ago I would have been freezing cold in 2 pairs of jeans, every jersey I owned covered up with Line 7 rain gear, army surplus boots and big thick gloves that were bugger-all warmer than dishwashing gloves. Times sure have improved."
