I can see clearly now the fuzz has gone

The wonderous god of the internet has once more passed its eye over our home land.

Great swathes of detail have been added all over NZ.

If you havn't already got google earth then get it here http://earth.google.com/ (12Mb)

then check out some of NZ's best roads (it is a work in progress so if I have them wrong complain to me, and I will try and fix)

But it is not quite good enough quality to see my bike park

Haha, and all signs pointed to this being a "police-bitching" thread

Pretty cool though. Amazing what we can do these days, huh?

hmmm its a tad out of date - a few months i'd say.

theres a "hill" at the end of my driveway that they cut the trees down on so it slipped (council logic ) and the trees are still there

and sadly the stupid satellite is on the wrong side angle of the house to see my bike

    Cool

I got to check out what all the drama on Google Earth was about yesterday on someone else's computer. We zapped over to the USA and back to Auckland City and West Auckland.

Even checked out my house, my car was parked nicely in my driveway

I can't get it on my computer, cos Im using windows 98se.

It only allows you to get it if you use 2000 or XP.

Ive heard that somewhere along the lines all importand buildings are at least 500m away from the actual latitude and longitude shown on google earth.

all the detailed pictures are done by plane not satellite, and i wouldn't expect the pics to be updated very often, every few years maybe?

yeah I downloaded google earth at work on Monday this week... Got to check out all the places back home that I went to, school, home, mall's and the like... was very exciting for the first few hours. Got to show Sam everything that I've been telling her about for ages...

Harare (Zimbabwe) is much better (to look at with Google Earth) then Auckland. You can see the whole city, all the suburbs and some bush areas...

As for Auckland... I can't even see where I live as it's been covered by a perfectly rectangular cloud since I downloaded it... sad...
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

Note some idiot riding a CB400 to work. Dates it to Pre-Christmas 2005.

Unfreaking-believeable. I KNEW I should be wearing the tinfoil hat all the time.

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
