Aww.....Come on.....Alll those people on the benefit probably pay more tax than those who work!!!! (Certainly as a percentage of their income)

Just think of all that Tobacco and Alcohol tax!!!

Save money....Bring back the Death Penalty
Why do prisons need Sky? Send someone to prison....Rehabilitate them (This means giving personal one-on-one tuition....Appartently chemistry is a favourite with inmates....)
Now THIS system works almost as well as Auckland public transport!

Nope. Only by petition to the Governor General, but he can ignore it.

Do you think enough people would sign the petition? How many signatures do you thing it would need?

Who knows. The residual power of the Sovereign to sack a government and/or disoolve Parliament against the wish of the government has never been tested in this country. And only tested in living memory in Australia when Sir John Kerr sacked Whitlam , and (I think) in Rhodesia when they rebelled.

I think you'd need more than 60% though.

    Tragically, it's a combination of
    1) "Who would do the least worst job"
    2) "What's in it for me - ooo look baubles!"

I don't hold much hope for the strategic prospects of many democracies. They only thing really pushing them along is the incentive of private business to make money as best they can - despite the moronic obstacles blocking the path.
