Don't Harleys have some sort of weird setup on the conrods/crank that takes a lot of mucking around or was that only the oldies..
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Yep...............it's where they get that slow popping sound. The Harleys are not a true V twin. Not that I would mention that at a rally. In fact they are what is known as a split single....................don't ask me to explain that.........other than it's all to do with the connection/cycle of the conrods to the crankshaft.

You're onto it. The bikes balls are where they should be side by side..........Guzzi's are not girls.................they are drakes.

Agreed, I've still got more than enough 0-120+ pickup to blow away fat sweaty 45 year old fucktards in their SS Commodores, pimply little fuckwit tossers in their piece of shit boyracer Subaru or Nissan wankmobiles from the lights, and yes, even a fair few other bikes, if I want to. Enough performance for overtaking as well. Yeah, it won't do much more than 220k tapped out, once again, if I want to, but that's still twice the speed limit. Over all, enough performance to wonder why I'd ever need a sportsbike, the increased HP at high revs is of little use on public roads in my opinion. I have nothing against any other bikes, however I'd just rather have the "grunt" of my HD which I consider more useable in real life than race-bred high HP. If I ever want to start racing, then yeah, maybe a move into the 21st century would be required. Until then, I'll just keep riding my HD until I feel the need to sell it for the same price (or more) than I paid for it!

You can diss the harley motor, it still a lovely piece of equipment. But like everything with a badge you pay for the name with the harley.

Yeah, unfortunately! Don't get that problem with the Jappa's though, guess it's all about volume... (Mmmm, could take that two ways, too!)

Still like a Sporty though. Mebbe when this wedding thing is over... Youngest daughter gets married on the 8th July, costin' a bit! Could just about buy a Harley for the same! Well, not quite, but gettin' there!

Yeah two-up with all the camping gear etc my 1200'S' will struggle to get much over 185 -190k (apparently )

But then who rides at those speed for long anyway, cruising & carving the corners is where it's fun.

But for some reason there is bugger-all difference when it comes to parts and accessories prices, they're ALL bloody expensive.

I remember an Aussie bike mag use to publish a list of commonly needed parts at the end of a bike-test write-up, I was amazed to see how close in price a lot of parts were, o.k. there was a bit of variation but on the whole they were pretty even when the lists were compared
