Well, I certainly don't begrudge the otter. Goodly beasts. And, karma, y'never know. What goes round comes round, help rescue an otter in this life and he rescues you in the next one. Maybe.

Good point... we should have them sitting around doing nothing? I thought that would be abld the same cost to us taxpayers?

Wouldn't it be more appropriate if the US Navy Seals helped? Some of them good ol' boys could have there'selves a BARBEEKEW!

No body actually paying as I understand. Zoo's asked folk around devonport (which logically includes the Navy bods) to keep an eye out. Hopefully the Navy being full of bright eyed , super alert, on the ball , watchfull fellas and fellaettes, they should spot him real fast.

Rates irritate me. Local Govt. is all about taxation without representation. The bastards have elections but never let you know that the election is on until two minutes before you have to vote and then you're supposed to vote for 30 people. By the time you've tracked down the info needed to vote for the nepotistic bastards the election is done.

Then they charge you the price of a nice 2nd hand dirt bike for a library card and some flower beds in the CBD.

Does the Otter want to be "rescued"?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Not to mention thermal imaging, all manner of clever detection type devices etc...

I've got my money on a the left front tyre of Corolla finding it first though. At approximately 65 kph

HUtt City Council buddy. They don't even do rubbish pickups any more, it costs you money if you report a problem with the council owned entry to your driveway, and $500 for them to remove a derelict car.

If your mains water supply fucks out, ring a plumber. The council will charge you $100 to look at it.

Well, if we had something like a natural habitat for her , with other otters and stuff , I'd agree. But reality is , that if they don't catch her she'll either be squashed by a car, killed by a dog, or starve to death, not many fish filled streams around Devonport these days.

And they are raising your rates for the 06-07 year as well?!?
