College Hill is in Ponsonby - where the accident happened.

College Road is in St Johns.
College Road is also in Northcote.

Darn, assumed it was college hill rd.

Wises should have taught me that there are usually more than one road with the same name.

Just me or are these annoucements getting closer together?

Perhaps linked to all the cage drivers switching to bikes to save fuel?

Was he a HOG member or just a Harley rider?

Speedy recovery for sure..two broken legs has got to suck,my concern when i read that (not that it is the case here)..i see a lot of HD's/Cruisers that have very high handlebars combined with low seat heights where if you were to run into something you are fooked because of the bars.I know first hand what happens when you hit something solid, the bike stops, you don't.

    Lou - I don't know....

As of last night he was in surgery for over 6 hours...
So there must be more injuries than just his two broken legs.

Mind you it could depend on where the bones broke as well.

His step daughter hasn't replied back in the thread this morning.

I didn't mean the 'just' to sound the way it did.
I know quite a few HOG guys and was concerned.

Hope he has a speedy recovery. It's bad enough with one broken leg.

He is in Hosp for two weeks, then unable to walk for another 2 months, then finally will be able to use crutches. Bike was not a total write off though $9000 in damage done. He is definitely very luck.

I agree with a lot of people that there are a lot of idiots on the road whether it by cars or bikes! My hubbie and I have two bikes (old one and a very new one)..... I love going out on both. Was even going to get my bike licence this year. But I am now having second thoughts.

He was not associated to any harley group (chapter), is just a Hog rider. Once again thanks to everyone. I will update when we get back from hosp. =)

Update on the Hog rider at 9.20pm from TM Member:

Still going to be at least 2 - 3 months before he is able to stand and a lot longer than that before he can walk.

Thankfully he can't remember anything after trying to avoid being hit. His first visitor today was one of the witnesses that looked after him until ambulance got there. Apparantley they (the witnesses).... were just commenting on how it looked like this woman was about to do a u-turn with out looking then the next thing she did and took him out.

It took approx 2 hours to get him out from underneath the parked car that he slid under (on the bike). Of course his main concern today is the bike, also very annoyed that his brand new (4 days old) Shoei helmet is stuffed. Great advertising for Shoei helmets though as skid marks down entire right side, and visor pretty scratched (so you can see what position his head was in as he was sliding).

He is bloody lucky to get off with cuts bruises and a broken leg (femur broken completley through in one place, lower leg in two places).
