Weekend cruiser
Lots of frost grit on the hills before and after Dunedin, some good frosts lately.
Loud and Uncouth
No snow but watch for ice in the shaded areas - and grit, especially in/around towns.
Apart from that the roads are pretty good.
Oh, and try not to run over any of the almost-frozen-to-death penguins lounging about on the coastal bits.
(I'm sure that's the image a lot of North Islanders have of down here)
