I doubt either cop bike or the breakerrat got a number plate of the said rider!

And those BMW's (and the Honda's for that fact) aren't all that quick, with all the crap they have to carry, FFS the BMW is close to 450kg! The Honda hauls off the line a bit better but the BMW has better top end over the old ST. A Gixxer murders them both.

I don't think the rider realised there was a cop behind him / her. Certainly realised that they'd been a bit naughty when the cop pulled alongside. Slowed right down........ I'd say it was a fairly sedate ride for the rest of the journey - so lesson learnt I guess.

Yea i was chatting to one of the boys (well he was prolly in his his 50's maori joker, nice guy) and he reckon the honda was a bit lighter and easier to get going but the beamer had a better top end, i think if we're talking handling they are both going to be pretty crap at the end of the day. He reckoned the beamer lost it weight once you're going but when you lean it haha, he reckoned it wouldn't pull wheelies either and wouldnt let me try.
Yea i realise they aren't to haul up bikers, they sure help though getting through traffic and stuff, but fuck that beamers a wide bitch.

The thing about the beamer is you can ride it all day on patrol without your ass feeling like a concrete block at the end of the day.

The heated seats on the new model beamer is a little bit too pofterish for me though!
Heated Seats WTF! Mind you if was fookin chilly the other night and i was only pulling a wheelie to keep the wind off me

I'd ride my Jixxer all day sore arse or not if i could take that out on patrol (if i was a cop), fuckn aye no mutha f#%^$% will get away then, quota in less than an hour or your money back!!!!

Yes and No Chris, you see Eagle buzzes that area quite a bit, busting P labs n all sorts of shit, also spends alot of time of Glenn Innes and it's not that far away from the city, espeshlly on Fri/Sat nights they're everywhere, not wise doin anything on those nights down the NW or any motorway.
I dont care what anyone says, once Eagles got ya, ya fucked. Has been stories of bikes out running eagle round the Huaraki but eagle dont get down that way much (i think) 2 an 1/2 hour flight time i think it's good for, even less if it's going for it, prolly the only ones who have gotten away from Eagle are the lucky ones where it needs to land soon for a refuel and cant carry on the chase! There'd be few lucky ones though.

It only takes westpac rescue chopper between 14 and 16 mins if i remember to get to the hauraki plains. so depending on how long they been flying for, yeah i guess they would have to abandon the chase, but the can always call ahead for ground units to try and take up the chase, lets face it a bike going flat out is gonna chew through his gas and would prolly run out of gas real fast. so dont count on them not getting you.

only using the westpac rescue as an example , bearing in mind that the rescue chopper is a MBB/Kawasaki Bk 117, which is twin engined as well , and the eagle is a twin engine Aerospatiale AS355 Twinstar aircraft. The primary use of the aircraft is as an airborne observation platform. From their vantage point in the sky the crew are able to readily coordinate the operations of ground units. This is particularly valuable where police are chasing offenders, either on foot or in vehicles. Once the aircrew have visual contact with the fugitive they are able to direct ground units into position to make an arrest.

Better off using multiple patrol cars with nudge-bars etc. eh?

Such a shame Eagle hasn't landed in Wellington. I'd still like to see a bike v chopper, or bike v bike. Having seen a few cars push themselves pretty hard (spinning out, cutting up cars, speeding into oncoming traffic, blowing intersections at high speed), I'd be wondering just how far the fuzz would go on bikes. Probably further that I would I suspect. Personally I'm not dying to get outta trouble.
