A workmate is a harley fan, and he tried to get insurance.
All his house and car and everything was through the AA but they flatly refused to insure his harley. Apparently they won't insure any harley because they're too high risk.

He eventually dropped all his insurance from them and went elsewhere.

This'll be the second. Another Squawking Budgie Harley went from an apartment complex. They beat the chain, steering lock, alarm system and two parked cars to get it out.

It's all right it will take him a while to get back to speaking englisha.

A similar Screaming Eagle equipped Harley was stolen recently - circumventing the owners best efforts to keep it from being stolen.

The more you hear about the AA and their attitiude to motorcycles - the more you assume the acronym is for the 'A-holes Association'.

It bugs me cause they seem like nice people every time I go in there - and the maps and the touring stuff is great - whey can't they recocgnise just because we're on 2 wheels only we're road users too.

Yes,Indians are always very polite....do you ask for a discount when you are there? They always ask for one from me.I have a lot of trouble with the AA testing station up the road from me,first set up by locals,it now appears to be run entirely by Indians.I don't know how they get the qualifications to become WoF inspectors (AVI) but no way have they served any time as a motor mechanic, which really should be the base line standard. They haven't got a clue - but they are very good at going ''by the book'',they make no judgements, following company policy to the letter.I've had heaps of arguments with them, but they are unruffled and ignore me.

Interesting. I changed all my insurances over to them and when I got the VFR they insured that at a very competitive price.
Being a beaurecratic organisation, perhaps we should suggest to them that they require a motormacycle "department" to attend to our needs...?

The more I have to do with them the less I like them...

I got accosted by some team of semi literate wide boy muppets in cheap suits and too much hair gell while rushing to extract my magnificent chariot from the grasping claws of Wilsons parking ($9 all day except a whole bunch more if you stay after 6pm - bastrds) trying to sell me another credit card with AA on it and american express.

I was polite - I said I didn't have time because I had to get my car out by 6pm to avoid a penalty (he didn't believe me and said so which irked me - a lot)

I then told him that as much as I respected the AA i wished they would concentrate on motorists (and bikers) rights rather han putting so much effort into becoming a major travel and financial institution. 'Oh but they arn't' says Muppet Boy (I'm getting PO'd now)

Look friend - I'm stressed, I'm running late and you are starting to annoy me - you are not getting a sale out of me today so lets agree to disagree OK?...

Could he leave it at that.... ooooohhhhh no.... He'd been a sales course and all he needed to do was ask some closed questions and it would all come right...

I was ready to kill the bastard by now but I merely flayed him alive verbally (must check blood sugar levels) and stormed off....

feckin AA membership renewal arrived at home the next day - debating whether to pay it or not.
