No, we're out of Z6 Metzs among others. Bugger it.
I've seen one common brand and model go from $550 to $706 a set.

    Don't say you weren't warned.

What's the justification from the tyre companies as to the rise in costs?

An increase in the licencing rights for the circle shape.

Apparently Ngati Whakahonki have all image rights to circles cos they invented them and uncle Heilen has given them back under the tee trea of whitehangi.

What's driving the price hike? Currency or other?
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

Holy crap ~ sounds like tyre prices are following Korea's example.
I was quoted nearly $800NZD for a set of Michellin Pilot Powers a little while back. Apparently in Korea they pay a lot of import tax on foreign produced goods.

What about ordering your tyres on eBay ~ I saw some US resellers advertising seriously cheap deals. I guess shipping would be the major cost, but would we have to pay a load of import tax etx.?
    Has anyone done this?

I'm guessing msot bike tyres are imports, but the fact that goodyear is closing South Pacific Tyres in Upper Hutt (AFAIK the only tyre factory in NZ) probably cant be helping matters.
