    Best Jap Litre Bike 06?

Right we've all read masterbike, superbike, preformance bike and all the other shit out there, but what do the people think is the top litre bike given experiance and the facts?

The unchanged for 2006 and reining king, Suzuki's GSXR1000K6
The basiclly unchanged from 2004, Yamahas R1
The slight but effective changes to the new Honda CBR1000RR
The All new for 2006, Kawasakis ZX10R

After reading numerous test, i have to say it seems Kawasaki have got it wrong this time, with many testers calling for them to give them the 05 bike with the Ohlins damper on that, shame i for one thought this bike was going to be the one to beat this time round, but there hasn't been much to rave about, the styling IMO some angles it looks mint, the black one with the akro's on looks shit hot, until you get to the front, think one tester discribed it as a pokemon thats been smacked in the face! In matserbike it was a fast bike on the track, but overall it hasn't faired to well in various tests elsewhere.

The R1, still a wicked peice of kit, but falling behind due to lack of updates, 2007 should see an all new R1 following the lines of the wicked little R6, the R1 is always up there (as are all the bikes) it has some say the best looks of any Jap bike, and i'd have to agree it is a pretty thing to look at, some of the colour schemes are a bit odd though!

The Honda, well it's had some small but very effectice changes, minor cosmetic changes and finally a decent fucken paint job, the 06 in red n black looks shit hot, the muffler lighter and a new much better looking twin exit tip, rather than the money butt exhaust of the old one, they made slight changes to gearing (2 teeth up on the rear) and a few others here and there, the Honda always been a top bike that did everything well but nothing well at the same time, from what i've read of the new one, its a changed beast and it's challenging the others in all deptmartments.

The GSXR, well some say i's biased, which yes i love my Suzuki's, but at the end of the day i buy my bikes at whats the best performing bike i can afford at the time, and the GSXR has always been the bike at the time.
The 06 model is unchanged from the 05, styling is divided into love it or hate, the stock muffler IMO is the shizz, love it when a manufacturer steps out and does something way different. The bike as everyone knows is a weapon in stock tirm and even in 06 in the face of some tough challenges its still topping most of the tests between the four litre bikes and if it's not tops it's right there on the arse of whatever is in front, we should be seeing an updated version in 07. Wicked

IMO the GSXR is still top dog, if the GSXR didnt exsist i used to say i'd buy the ZX10R (05) but the new one, i've lost faith in the big K, i would've brought an R1, but it's just too pretty for me to be serious, i would buy the Honda as my next, yes the honda, the changes to it have made it a worthy bike of going in my garage, so well done to Honda, they're on the right track, we've got 07 for the new R1 and i have to wonder if the big K will do something to the ZX10R in face of some of the reports.

So place your votes, weather it be based on looks, performance, the bike you have, the bike you wish to own, base it on facts alone, base it on whats in your heart.

What is the peoples (KB) litre bike of the year?

Edit: On the subject of which is better, as I've not sampled the 06ZX10 or the Blade, I'll reserve judgement.

The Gixxer is still king, fastest of the bunch and truly cutting edge looks....although not to everyones tastes.
The R1 is supposed to be the better road bike, and the CBR is now almost on a par but loses out on top end and engine performance.
The ZX10 looks like poo with those gay pipes and although having a powerful motor is not up to par with putting down the power.....
Rumour has it Honda will be releasing a heap of new models in 07 and the CBR may well be updated.

Hard one for me to answer without cringing to be honest. I voted for the ZX10R...incase now one else did...but the brain votes for the Gayixr as it is prolly the *best* all round bike.
Personally I do like the look of the ZX10R's which is why I bought mine. To me they all perform so closely on the track that it comes down to comfort and asthetics.
Also...I got sick of turning up for rides and seeing so many bikes the same as mine. I might like sheep, but I refuse to be one...
Unfortunately I still gotta say that the Suzi is on top

PS: The other two bikes do zero for me and I haven't ridden either therefore I dunno

Yeah its all a matter of personal taste and brand loyalty.
I prefer the Gixxer cause its the quickest in the right hands on a track.....
But most owners on the road would be hard pressed to push them as hard as they do in the magazines.
The latest PB magazine said the R1 was better, but in reality they tested in 2deg C conditions on a shit Bruntingthorpe (not even a proper circuit)....and previously in better conditions the Gixxer kicked R1 butt with fastest laptime ever. Something the R1 was still miles away from in the new test. It was just a test of who was fastest on a shitty day....

Yea at the end of the day most people would be hard pressed to tell em apart, i for one woudl prolly be jsut as fast on the road on any of the four bikes, although i'd be hard pressed to beat my new bike on the track with any other of the Jap offerings in stcok tirm.
