girl got hit in the states...someone on the forum said she should keep a diary and write down how she felt mentally and physically each day, as it would maybe help pin down the cager that took her out. maybe get someone who will be having daily contact write down things till your sister can write or communicate it to who is writing.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
Add my get well wishes to the list too Eddieb. Like many others here "been there" and know the feeling. I think thats one of the things that makes bikers a tight bunch & sounds like its a family thing for you & yours are tight.
All the best to your sis, you & your family
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
...for the speedy recovery of the Little Sister.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
All the best in healing and hopefully she makes a full recovery.
All the best from the B clan, here's to a full and speedy recovery.
My daughter telling me like it is:"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
Wishing Little Sister a speedy recovery. Never good when a family member downs.

I hope she heals up well: you must all be in total shock at this stage though.
I'm told that getting the right supplements can really help at this stage; over here there is 'Osteocare', plus Comfrey tincture is supposed to be good as well as one or two others. Arnica for the bruising. A good, positive attitude and doing what the physio tells you goes a long way too.
No doubt a few folk here have a far more knowlege on this than I do, though. Keep your chins up, eh?

Sorry to hear this news, it sounds a very bad business. It can't be easy for family at the moment and our thoughts are with you all. As soon as you can be with here please tell her that we are all sending her our love!
Let me know if you can think of anything at all that we can do to assist either now or during the recovery time.
Best Wishes

Experience......something you get just after you needed it
The ride home tonight was a study in paranoia - having a close friend taken out at an intersection certainly brings home the danger and I was especially wary of every car I saw. I think I'm going to be paranoid around intersections for a while - especially Holland Rd/Marshmeadow Rd (as if I weren't already very cautious at that intersection.)
Liz was heading to work, riding along Holland Road towards Hamilton. Marshmeadow Road is on the left. If you come down Marshmeadow road towards Holland Road, there is a thick shelter belt to your right blocking your view of traffic coming down Holland Road from that direction. That shelter belt also hides traffic on Marshmeadow Road from traffic heading down Holland Road towards Hamilton - that's why we always slow down when approaching Marshmeadow Road from out of town... I've seen too many dicks come flying out of Marshmeadow Rd who obviously do not believe the compulsory Stop sign applies to them.
I read about a lot of accidents on here - some quite serious - and I know, intellectually, that a lot of people's lives have been affected by the accident. Someone's child or parent or brother or sister, husband or wife etc is badly fucked up and the friends and family have to deal with it.
This time is different. This time, I know the people. That one dickheaded bit of carelessness has seriously fucked up the lives of several of my close friends - Liz and her family, mainly. Good people, helpful people, friends of a goodly number of years.
The scary bit is how close this was to being a fatality. Some good people I know came close to losing a sister, a wife, a daughter, a step-mum.
Tonight I'm sad that a good friend is badly wounded, but glad she's still alive.
The latest word we have is that the surgeries were a success and Liz is resting "comfortably" - whatever that means when you have four broken limbs and a broken pelvis. There is the possibility of more surgery tomorrow and again on Thursday but they are apparently minor operations - the serious stuff has been done and she's come through well.
Motorbike Camping for the win!
My thoughts and well wishes to you and family EddieB.
I'm sitting here rethinking whether or not to get my motorbike licence, as I hear of my friends taking falls or getting knocked off. It's making me very nervious of going for it let alone feeling secure with Wolf riding to and from work each day. Those cages just dont give a damn about us bikers and think because they are safe inside their cage with metal surrounding them it's ok to pull out in front of a bike as the biker comes out with the worst damage. It really sux that we can't sue for damage here in NZ.
There are very few cagers that are biker aware and most of which either ride motorbikes or support those who do.

Sorry to hear that, best wishes and hope she has a full and speedy recovery!
