    damn he has the biggest set of balls of ever heard of, he sounds like one hell of a fighter..Major respect for him getting back on his bike again and getting through rehab etc and back to work...

    He sounds like a rare bread m8, typical Firefighter no doubt ...

    I have just read the post of his accident and all I can say is wow!

    Finally nice to have some good news about a person that saves lives, protects property and is generally an idol to most of us kiwis, is finally after thousands of good deeds he has done for us , that one good deed has been returned.
    It is great to see and hear that, and I realise that our lives aren't so bad after all

    Three cheers for heroes!!

    Top effort Dave. i am sure that his recovery and return to work has had a lot to do with his peers being so supportive and encouraging. It is very easy coming off a bad injury, to be down on yourself so much that work/friends and family are the least important thing, and it is when depression insidiously creeps in, so you should be proud of your supportive efforts over the last 7 months.
