    Wellington Weather Warning

Hay Everyone, This has just come out...

Civil Defence have advised that both the National Crisis Management Centre and the Wellington Regional Civil Defence Emergency Operations Centre are monitoring the heavy weather in the Wellington Region.

The current forecast is that the persistent rain will become heavier over the next 6 to 8 hours.

Technical Services are dealing with a large number of reports of leaks in buildings on both the Wellington and the Porirua sites - but apart from that (and the predictable travel delays) we are not aware of any weather related issues that are impacting on the provision of DHB services.

Yeah, I shandied out again when offered a lift in. Good thing I did - round our way the wind was strong enough and the standing water deep enough that gusts were picking up great lumps of it and throwing it around. Had enough of that shit riding home last night

Good luck to those that rode in. I can only suggest skiving home early enough to go home while there's still sun.
