S12's do last well for a knobbly. Did 3 seasons of x-country and VMX racing on the XR with a pair of them.

Well I just put a set of Kenda K270 DUAL SPORT on me Beastii I wanted to put Kenda BIG BLOCKk784f, K784f on it but as these buggers are half the price i thought it was worth a try eh' so far the K270 DUAL SPORT have been good but as they say time will tell................ Oh as a word of advise if you are going to be riding on the road in order to go off road don't buy straight out off road tires!!!! as they'll just go flat on the bottom and be useless!!!! also keep away from the flashii big brand tires because they are crap off road!!!!
Buying tires on line....
The big prob is yer have able to have a look at the
date of manufacture... This brand new Shinko 705
turned up friday...It's already 2 years old...
the date code is 2711... made on the 27th week of 2011...
is not to bad... I have seen 4 & 5 year old tires on new bikes
on the show room floor..
so theres a bit of useless info for those of you that don't already know..
if yer look at the impression yer can see the stamp was held in the mold
by 2 phillps head bolts..

Pete
90% of all Harleys built are still on the road... The other 10% made it back home...
Ducati... Makeing riders into mechaincs since 1964...
I got two tyres from Cycletreads that were four years old.
It would appear then that we are not doing our part and wearing them out fast enough
Time for a ride then![]()
I got a tough choice to make do I stick with the MT90 front I usually run on my 950 or do I go to a TKC80
Im scared of loosing the road grip and front end feel that I suspect I need to keep 100hp tamed on the twistys (highway 16 etc) but could do with some more grip getting on and of the Beach at Murawia, lifes not easy when you have to make these sort of decisions![]()
I wouldnt stick a TKC 80 on the front even if you asked me nicely. I have only ever had one tyre let me down in the wet on the front, no prize for guessing. Never had any issues with them on the back
TKC 80 rear, Metzler Karoo on the front for my money(If I was still running knobs on the Beemer, however as I now have a toy with knobs the Beemer is on dual sports)

Change of plan, Trying Kenda K784 instead of TKC80 will report back after weekend gravel and sand ride (weather permiting)
'Good things come to those who wait'
Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
