MT91 fitted and ready, predictions of how many km's I shall get out of this one?

(and see the other half of my garage is not so messy)

By far the knobbliest tire I have fitted on the 690, should be good fun, farm tracks/beach here I come. Just hope it survives the tarmac getting there.

    That one is a 110/100x18.
    The 130 equivalent in 17" is a 130/90x17.

According to the sidewall on the one on my GSX.

    just an update:
AC10 fronts got 4k on it and still looking under half worn, and its reverseable so i still got that option.
TW30 got 2500k and looking a little sad be gone by 3.5k

will prolly use another AC10 front after this one

    Mitas E-07

Got the E-07 fitted last weekend to the KTM, now the bloody thing is another inch taller. The guy at LMS told me if I wear it out in under 3500km to bring it back, I thought sweet, he said no no I'll put a heavyier spring in that bloody throttle cablenice guy he owns a DR650.
Went up the street to AFC to get it fitted, he said if you want to take it off yourself it will save you money, I had it on his table in 2 mins. After fitting the tyre I said what do I owe you, he said na na your right I do it all day mate this ones a free bee I think I will start using them as my KTM dealer
I then ripped up SH1 to Waiouru across fields track down to Wanganui and home.Tyre hooks up bloody well on the gravel but I cant touch the ground now

    Hmmm...

The 640A has a 2.5" rear rim, yes?

What is the "proper" tyre width for a 2.5" rim?

There were these 3 dwarf kings or Tarse's.

The Mountain Tarse, the River Tarse and the Shore Tarse...

Hard to say... I've only seen charts for road bikes, and they are way different. The 640E specifies a 130/80, and the 640A a 140/80... both on the 2.5" rim (aka 110/100 and 120/100.)

    My 200EXC has a 2.15" rim and 120/90 tyre (100/100) but I've seen 450s & bigger running 140/80s on 2.15" rims... ex-factory.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Yep it's a 2.5" rear rim with the 140/80/18 E-07, the 4.60x18 Sirac that I had on there was a teeny weeny tyre but I could lean that bitch right over, this 140 not so much.

I've got a 140 wide E07 on the back of the 950. Done about 6k and still about 1/2 tread. Gets a bit of a thrashing but not too bad. Just been for a play on some steep rocky tracks with a bit of mud and snow thrown it. Did bloody well. Good adv touring tyre.

I'm going for the 130/80x18 E07 for my 640A. Gotta work an overtime shift tomorrow to pay for it.
