    Yamaha SR185

Can anyone comment on these yamahas?

any typical problems? things to look for?

gonna go and check one out this weekend, pretty cheap, but says its all good.
no wof , no reg. needs electrical work, fuses etc (which is something I can fix)

(i know there'll be a few 'girls bike!' comments but aside from that )

    cheers

nah , some fella in levin

nice cheap bike for blattin to work
bit slower than Id prefer but should do for now

will still be fixin the KLR but replacing the cam and a ton of other bits as well
    (army abuse syndrome)
getting it to a usable state is taking too long and Im itchin to get out this cage

Ill just flick it once the other is ready to go any how

figure its ok since Im a newbie licence guy and first time biker

plus itll mean I can spend more on my riding gear!!

    cheers

Keep in mind that new reg will cost $350, and you need previous reg documentation. Otherwise the reg process is costly.
Ask why, if the electrical problem is just a fuse, why has it not been replaced. It may be more complex problem.
The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight underpants.

    Hi,
Goin to see it tomorrow so will take a meter etc to check wiring while there.

    and FYI:
-I was quoted $100 to re-vin by vehicle testing centre, lower hutt.
-if no prev-reg papers available, testing centre will give you two forms:

    1. Police clearance : checks frame # in case listed as stolen.
    2. ownership confirmation: signed and witnessed(?) to state that you are the legal owner.

then they will re-vin no problem.

had same issue with my KLR, police clearance form is good piece of mind for any bike which isnt on the vehicle registrar.

    cheers
