Very nice Malcolm. Your ride to work cold weather threshold must now be down to -10 . You'll be unbeatable on the Southern Cross!

No, I'm still a warm weather rider. I'll stick to -6. Although going to work this morning it was still well above zero.

Have ya dropped it? The pannels don't match!

The new red does look sharp, although I've got the old brighter scarlet one.

Thats nothing. Was riding a snow mobile in Sweden north of the artic circle in early Jan in minus 20 without the wind chill . Had the visor completely freeze and my glasses freeze. The heated handbars and thumb throttle were hot as hell and with the suit we were given to wear was sweating like I've never sweated on a bike. 660cc triple with a turbo (was an ag machine!) kept us working and hot as. The power when the turbo spun up was wicked but 75kph when your arse is about 400mm from the snow is kinda interesting.

    Cheers

    Love the colour.
What promted the change? Or was it to get something a little more multi purpose?

When I first bought the GS1200SS I decided that it would be a two year bike, or 20,000 km, whichever took the longer. Then after the 2005 Southern Cross I was so impressed with the VStroms that I knew that would be my next bike. I ordered one last year for delivery this winter.
