Been thinking sidechair myself for a while now ! Not that we have kids but i'm damb sure the dog would love it !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

We have three two-wheeled vehicles between two of us. I have my multi-purpose Volty for every occasion from commuting to riding out of town. Partner has a scooter for commuting (Piaggio Hexagon 180cc) and an SV1000S for the wide open spaces.

I'm happy riding my own bike or being a passenger on either of his. I get to ride every day, so sometimes it's nice to hop on the back of his bike and be able to enjoy the ride and the scenery without having to concentrate on riding.

Also he has been riding for about 35 years and I have been riding for almost two years, so jumping on the back of his bike and paying attention to what he does (cornering, changes in technique in the wet, etc) is always helpful for me to improve my own riding.
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

    I've got two bikes.

    One going.

    One dismantled.

    I like it that way.

Perfection is not something you should ever attain, but something to always strive for. For if we actually achieve our idea of perfection, is it then any longer perfect?

We both have two bikes - one going, one awaiting "works to enable unimpeded vehicular motion"

We have his and hers at this stage, she can do her full licence test shortly but is not yet sure if she would rather ride her own or pillion.

Mrs TA has been on the back for 2 years.
This winter after starting work at Road and Sport Harley Davidson in Hamilton, she sat and passed her learners.

Today was our very first "ride" together .. we reached 80kph .. and she toppled over at an intersection .. but she enjoyed it .

Parked the wee 250 hobag in the garage, then I pillioned her to raglan for coffee and a muffin, then a quick loop around waingaro

    Sweet day !!!!!!

Last year my wife says "I want to learn to ride" so she finds a 250 Virago to learn on. Then she says "I dont want to do it on my own" Pillion is out as the virago disappears up my bum when I stand up so what do you know We now have a bike each to learn on. We have both found it a joy to learn new skills together. Only downside is washing and polishing is a blue job apparently.
For some reason we dont do that together??????

Yeah, my wife & I have our own bikes. Have had for twenty years...

For a big chunk of that time, my bike sat in bits on a shelf so we shared a few bikes that were "ours" rather than strictly "his & hers" for a while. I finished screwing my bike together just over two years ago, and we bought her a bike that she particularly likes (Buell XB12S) so we now have "our own" bikes and enjoy riding together again. She very rarely pillions these days, preferring to do it herself. We would like to do a 1000 miler (maybe this year, probably next year) and a trip on the bikes around the south island.

We had already been married for a few years before I got my first bike at 25 years of age, and it became an "us" thing right from the beginning.

    Awesome!

I will never forget watching my wife learn to ride her brand new bike.

    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
