Couples with a Bike each

Yeah, the family that plays together, stays together, or summat like that.. it is really cool to be able to be involved with what your kids are doing - especially those teenage years - and to have your teenagers still keen to hang out with the olds is great... besides, then you know exactly what the little buggers are up to..

My other half has her own bike ( K5 SV650S). She used to only pillion, I hardly even knew she was on the back. Finally convinced her that her talent was wasted sitting behind me, and that she should be sitting behind her own set of bars. The rest is history. She rides really well.The local shop lent her a K6 GSX-R750 for the weekend a couple of weeks back. Looks like the bank account is going to take another thrashing later this year!! In saying that, her six fiddy is an awesome fun bike to ride ( when I get permission to ride it). We both enjoy biking together, or going for solo rides. Due to the nature of my job, I'm quite often working on nice days ( 7 days a week), and it's nothing for my girl to go out for a 7-800km ride by herself. I suppose I am quite lucky that we both get the same enjoyment out of riding

There is currently a NZ couple doing a tour of Sth America, Nth America and Canada on bikes. They have 2 kids aged 6 and 4, are doing a lot of offroad stuff and camping out etc in the wilds so they cart everything with them. They had to get pillion seats adapted with frames because the kids fall asleep while travelling. They are going to be away for a year I think. Awesome education for those kids eh?

Down to just the one bike now, two up all the time, i dont really know Anne is there until she passes me the hip flask.......

And its nice to get a pat on the back when i do something wrong and yell out ''fuckit''.....

But being together on the bike is what it is all about for us, enjoying our time with others and enjoying ourselves, getting home and saying ''awsome day''....

Me and Glenn both ride our own bikes. Glenn also rides mine on occasion and is very helpful when it comes to maintenance with my bikes!

Ya got it exactly right though...it's your own buzz that is important.
Pressure from "fellow" riders is immature and potentially dangerous.

This is a bit off topic - duh - like I've never done that before, LOL - but it seems to me that women generally do ride their own ride and aren't sucked in to that "gotta prove myself" mentality. We don't seem to have the need to appear better than anyone else on the road, hence we get in to less trouble. Just my observations, right... back to the topic...

Mrs V has always been happy as pillion, but this year decided "I could do that".

We got a Virago 250 for her to learn on, but it's a slow process, now halted for the winter.

Mine too - due to garage renovations, piles of mud everywhere and bikes been stored at a friendly neighbours, compounded with the fact that I'm a real blouse and feel the cold heaps, decided to put bike rego on hold for 3 mths- hopefully I don't forget all that I have learned. But, hey, we don't all have to be hard men, do we?
