but for other riders...yeah...could be absaloutly fine handling bike I suppose...

umm....your not biased being a SV nut are ya?...lmao
Ah ha! There ya have it, it's down to the rider

Me an SV nut? Naw, I'd never buy another one of them... the quality between the Suzuki twins and fours is light years apart. It's quite apparent after doing a side by side which ones are their flagship models

But having said that, $20k for a GSXR1000 is a world different from the $12.5k for the SVS...

    sv probs:

TPS - needs to be tweaked - simple do it yourself - makes a huge difference to the get up and go that poocows refers to above. Pre - adjustment it has a hesitation, after doing it goes instantly. I also tested a TL and an SV and found opposite ie low to mid range and SV has the go, top end I'd say TL has the advantage - sounds like there is a bit of variance bike to bike.

K3 has naf clutch slave cylinder setup. Basicaly shite from the front sprocket gets around the seal - I'm in the middle of fixing mine by putting in the K4 onwards shite seal - will put up a thread soon.

Suzuki should patent its thin paint technology - cant speak for the others but my paint could be measured in microns.

The bottom style fairing on the s model gets chewed up by stones off the front tyre and needs protection.

Other than that I'm really happy with my SV.

Good shit!, thanks for the info so far guys (except the HONDA part?)... I'll have a better look into the bikes I test now I know what to look for.

Hey keep it coming I havent ridden a twin other than a Harley and an xs, so depending on a few tests I might flag the whole idea... see how we go.

    Go for the TLS

My opinion: all models you ask about have pros & cons but I reckon there is no such thing as a bad bike these days. At the end of the day only you will know what suits you best but if it was me looking at your choices I would go for the TLS no question. It has way more character than any of the others (and still more than a lot of newer bikes). I met a guy on Sunday with one that had done over 100,000k and was still going strong, awesome bike with lots of tasty after market bits - extremely good value for an older bike which still has heaps of street cred.
PS: I am not biased - I have never owned or ridden a TLS, but it is one bike that I wish I had owned (an Italian beauty stole my heart before I got a chance).
    pretentious moi?

Ride everything you can get your mitts on!
Try all of the bikes that you want and a few that you might consider then throw in one or two that you weren’t even thinking of...

Then do what I did and buy a really unpractical one that still ISNT IN THE F#*KING COUNTRY!!!

Go for a ZRX1200R. There are some good buys around at the moment. More than enough fun factor and good for long distance rides as well. And being a naked, the wind drag will help you keep an eye on your speed and hopefully your license intact!

Just get a scottish painter to do the spraying - and tell him any extra used is coming out of his wages!

Mate, take a serious look at the TLs, I'm thinking about getting one next. Simply for the fact that not only did I fall in love the first time I saw one, but also that every person who's ever owned one raves about them and wishes they'd never sold their's. Including 3 riders I have alot of respect for (Saul, Loosebruce & Cowpoos). Ask any of the haters an I'll almost guarantee they've never owned one.

Hey wait on........ how the fuck did Poos get on that list?

edit: actually I'd put the TLR in a similar regard too. If that's where you're heart lies, and you can handle the non-GSXR handling (coming from an RF that shouldn't be an issue) then go for it. There's plenty of cheap TL's out there so you can afford to be picky and you don't stand to lose much if you change your mind.
It's just one of those days, where you don't wanna wake up,
    everything is fucked, everybody sucks,
You don't really know why but you wanna justify ripping someone's head off
